Privacy policy
Last updated 19 October 2026
RunLive is an iOS and Apple Watch running app. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, who processes it on our behalf, and the choices you have. We do not show advertising and we never sell your personal data.
Who we are
RunLive is made by RunLive, Inc. Our website is runlive.app. For anything about your data, write to privacy@runlive.app.
What the app does
RunLive records your runs using GPS, heart rate and motion data from your iPhone and Apple Watch. Zenith, the AI running guide, talks to you during a run. Live Runs are Pack runs with a shared playlist and voice chat between runners. Ghost Runs race your own past runs. The app integrates with Apple Health, Apple Music and, if you choose, Strava, and syncs between your iPhone and Apple Watch.
Data we handle
- Account. You sign in with Apple or Google. We receive the identifier and, if you share it, the name and email address from that sign in.
- Profile. Your name, handle, photo and bio, as you set them.
- Run records. Route, distance, pace, time, heart rate, cadence and calories for each run.
- Location during a run. Your position is read while a run is recording so the route, distance and pace can be worked out. Your route and location are never shared with other runners or your club. If you allow it, your club can see only that you are out running.
- Microphone audio. When you talk to Zenith or to the Pack in a Live Run, your voice is streamed for speech recognition and voice chat. We do not store it as recordings, except as described in the processors section below.
- Clubs and follows. Which clubs you belong to and who you follow.
- Device and notifications. Push tokens for your devices and your notification preferences.
- Apple Music. Access to your music library on the device, used only to play music during runs.
- Strava. If you connect Strava, the tokens needed to send your runs there.
- Subscription. Whether you have RunLive Stride, handled through Apple and RevenueCat. We do not see your payment details.
Apple Health
With your permission, RunLive reads and writes workouts, heart rate and related data in Apple Health. Health data is used only to show and record your workouts. In line with Apple's HealthKit rules it is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with anyone other than the processors needed to run the app. You can change what RunLive can read or write at any time in the Health app.
How we use your data
- To record and show your runs, and to sync them between your iPhone and Apple Watch.
- To let Zenith guide you by voice and to let you talk back.
- To run Live Runs: starting the Pack together, sharing the playlist and carrying voice chat.
- To race your own past runs in Ghost Runs.
- To show your profile and runs to the clubs and people you choose.
- To send you notifications you have turned on.
- To manage your RunLive Stride subscription.
- To answer support requests and keep the service working and secure.
We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.
Who processes data for us
We use these companies to run the app. Each only receives what it needs for its job.
- Supabase: database, authentication, storage and server functions.
- ElevenLabs: Zenith's voice, and speech recognition when you talk to Zenith.
- Agora: voice chat between runners in Live Runs.
- RevenueCat: subscription management.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, Apple Health, Apple Music, push notifications and billing.
- Google: Sign in with Google.
- Strava: only if you connect it, to send your runs to your Strava account.
- Mapbox: maps.
Each processor handles data under its own terms and privacy policy. Audio streamed for speech recognition or voice chat is handled by ElevenLabs and Agora as those services describe.
Sharing
Your profile and run records are visible to the clubs and people you choose within the app. We do not share your personal data with anyone else, except the processors above, or where the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while you have an account. You can delete your account and data from the app in Settings, or by emailing support@runlive.app. Deletion removes your profile, your runs and your club data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep something. Data in Apple Health, Apple Music and Strava stays with those services and is governed by them.
Your choices
- Location, microphone, Health, Music and notification permissions are controlled in iOS Settings.
- Whether your club can see that you are out running is controlled in the app.
- Strava can be disconnected in the app or from your Strava account.
- You can edit your profile, and delete your account, in the app.
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, export or erase your personal data, or to object to how it is used. Write to privacy@runlive.app and we will help.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with our processors under access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us straight away.
Children
RunLive is not directed at anyone under 13, or under the minimum age in their country. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, email privacy@runlive.app and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change is significant we will let you know in the app.
